NI AWR Software Training: New V13 Features and Advanced EM Concepts for 3D Simulation

Feb 3, 2017
Event location:
Santa Clara, CA

This one-day class highlights important new features in the V13 release of Microwave Office circuit design software and showcases the advanced and powerful concepts in  Analyst™ 3D electromagnetic (EM) simulation within Microwave Office. Many of these features can also be used with the AWR Connected™ EM flows for ANSYS HFSS and CST.

Important new features in V13 include:

  • Visual System Simulator™ (VSS) – system load pull
  • VSS – enhanced support for 5G
  • iFilter – filter synthesis enhancements
  • Microwave Office – new optimizers
  • EM simulation improvements, especially in mixed-technology simulation problems
  • Enhanced antenna simulation capabilities including AntSyn™, our new antenna synthesis product

Advanced EM features include:

  • Hierarchy in EM layout – especially with mixed technologies found in chips and boards
  • Creating and controlling 3D layout cells
  • Using pre-processing rules to your advantage
  • Shape modification rules
  • The EM schematic and PCells
  • Extraction for Analyst: basic extraction and advanced features such as hierarchy and port control
  • Setting up remote simulation
  • Working with negative layers
