NI AWR Design Environment
RDR is the radar, test bench, and phased-array library module that works seamlessly with Visual System Simulator™ (VSS) system-level design software. The radar library offers radar signal generation, radar-specific target and propagation modeling, and radar signal processing capabilities. The radar library is tailored to give easy access to all the needed capabilities for simulations such as RFI, 3rd party co-simulation, antenna arrays, multipath channels. The types of radars supported include cover military, medical, weather, and automotive applications.
The latest release of the VSS radar library enables easy setup for different array configurations, allowing simulation of phased arrays with thousands of antenna elements and supporting “first cut” analysis of various antenna metrics such as array gain patterns. Other highlights include:
In addition, the accompanying phased-array test bench enables engineers to gain further insight into overall array performance. The user interface to each block in the test bench lets users to readily construct different array configurations and analyze array gain patterns. System designers can thus simulate element failures, variations in gain and phase, and imperfections in placement of patches.
